- Build Quality: The overall durability and longevity of the chair or the incorporated electronics (If it has any). This also includes the size and weight capacity
- Built-in Speakers: Many gaming chairs don’t provide built-in speakers, but the ones that do have an upper hand. Also, how good are the integrated speakers?
- Massage Capabilities: Some chair’s provide massage capabilities, others don’t.
- Appearance: Let’s face it, when you’re sitting down going into a gaming battle, you need your gaming chair to look cool and enhance the vibe of your room.
We compared and contrasted each of these factors for the Homall & VON RACER
Type of Chair
There are a few types of gaming chairs. There are rocker chairs that typically sit closer to the ground and pleasantly rock back and forth. Then there are stationary chairs that might or might not provide a few levels of incline. And finally, there are gaming chairs with wheels with many similarities to a standard office chair. Each of the three has its own benefits. There isn’t necessarily a better or worse style as it comes down to your personal preference.
Homall
Customized for gaming on a PC, these chairs resemble a standard office chair. The recline function gives you the ability to tilt backward from 90 – 180 degrees and lock it in place. Additionally, by adjusting the bottom knob, it also possesses a rocker feature if you prefer rocking forwards and backward.
VON RACER
Where this chair stands out the most is the incorporated footrest that’s also retractable. It is a PC gaming chair similar to a standard office chair. However, it has adjustable armrests, a backward recline to 135 degrees, and the entire chair is height-adjustable, as well.
Overall, both of these chairs are optimized for PC gaming. However, the VON RACER provides a convenient leg rest.
Comfort
The ability to remain comfortable in your gaming chair for extended periods of time only makes your gaming or movie experience that much more enjoyable. If the chair possesses different recline levels or tilt, it’s also important to note which of the levels are comfy and which aren’t.
Homall
This chair is firm but comfortable. However, you might need to take a break from soreness every 5 hours or so. Yet, we still consider the overall comfort much better than average. The headrest and lumbar support are both adjustable. Some people prefer both, one or the other, or neither. Luckily, you have the choice to choose what you prefer. Out of 10, we give it a 8.9 for comfort.
VON RACER
This chair has its perks with the built-in massage, integrated footrest, lumbar support, and headrest. However, comfortability isn’t its strong point. It’s not bad for medium-sized to smaller people. But it’s not comfortable for larger adults. The armrests are pretty hard, as well. Out of 10, we give it an 8.7 for comfort.
Overall, the Homall is more comfortable.
Build Quality
What good is your comfortable gaming chair with various features if it breaks sooner than you’d expected? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Also, if the chair has any built-in electronics or speakers, it’s important they last long, as well. Another noteworthy attribute is the chair’s weight capacity and size. Some chairs might be a better fit for larger people, other chairs are better for medium to smaller people.
Homall
Upon arrival, the assembly is roughly intermediate level as it takes about 30 minutes. The materials used for this chair are above average and quite sturdy for the price. It’s made of PU leather and has tough alloy steel giving it an impressive 300-pound weight capacity. For the price, the construction outperforms. But nothing too surprising. We give the build quality a 9.1 out of 10.
VON RACER
With a straightforward 25-minute assembly, you’ll be happy with the easy construction time. The overall build quality is about on par with the price. It doesn’t exceed expectations nor disappoints. For the most part, this chair is sturdy but with a few flimsy parts. Overall, we give the build quality a 9 out of 10.
Overall, the Homall has a better build quality.
Built-in Speakers
Some gaming chairs provide built-in speakers and others don’t. However, many people believe that gaming chairs with incorporated speakers are more valuable for gaming since it enhances a surround sound effect. But there are a few critical questions to keep in mind for chairs with built-in speakers. Are they wireless, or do you have to plug the chair in via cord? How good is the sound quality? And my personal favorite, does the chair have an integrated subwoofer that vibrates the chair according to the game?
Homall
This chair does not provide built-in speakers.
VON RACER
This chair doesn’t provide built-in speakers.
Overall, neither have incorporated speakers.
Massage Capabilities
Some gaming chairs offer massage capabilities. While most don’t have this feature, it’s certainly a splendid option to have. Some people must have a massage chair, others don’t.
Homall
This chair doesn’t provide a massage feature.
VON RACER
With integrated massage, the lumbar support of this chair provides a great vibration massage. The only downside is it must be plugged into USB at all times.
Overall, the VON RACER is the only one of the two with a built-in massage feature.
Appearance
Gaming chairs can either dramatically enhance the overall vibe of your room, or not. Many gamers don’t care too much about how their chair looks. But if you’re like me and prefer a cool chair to sit down and battle aliens on your game, then the appearance is quite essential.
Homall
Here is one of it’s strongest features. The overall appearance of this racing style executive gaming chair is magnificent. With the dual striped colors and the pattern designs it surely boosts your gaming set up. You can get it in one of seven colors, as well.
VON RACER
The VON RACER has a few positive traits, however, another negative attribute is the appearance. Although we don’t think the design is bad, it visually underperforms slightly compared to its competitors. Nonetheless, we don’t believe the appearance is anywhere near a deal-breaker.
Overall, the Homall has a better visual appeal.
