We compared and contrasted each of these factors for the X Rocker SE 2.1 & Ace Casual
Type of Chair
There are a few types of gaming chairs. There are rocker chairs that typically sit closer to the ground and pleasantly rock back and forth. Then there are stationary chairs that might or might not provide a few levels of incline. And finally, there are gaming chairs with wheels with many similarities to a standard office chair. Many people prefer them for PC gaming. Each of the three has its own benefits. But in the end, there isn’t necessarily a better or worse style as it comes down to your personal preference.
X Rocker SE 2.1
Don’t be fooled by the name as this chair does not rock back and forth. As a matter of fact, a few people returned this chair since they thought they were buying a chair when in fact, it’s a stagnant chair. With a pedestal base, this stationary gaming chair is perfect for those who want to be a bit closer to the ground than an ordinary sofa and office PC chair.
Ace Casual
Possessing a pedestal base, this chair isn’t necessarily a rocker, PC office chair, or sofa. It’s more like a standard stationary gaming chair that can tilt and swivel. You’ll also like the pivoting armrests.
Overall, both are stationary chairs optimized for console gaming on a TV. Neither provides a recline.
Comfort
The ability to remain comfortable in your gaming chair for extended periods of time only makes your gaming or movie experience that much more enjoyable. If the chair possesses different recline levels or tilt, it’s also important to note which of the levels are comfy and which aren’t.
X Rocker SE 2.1
The primary downside with this chair is the comfort. Although the built-in speakers are awesome, the build quality is fantastic, and the design is magnificent; this chair lacks comfort for a few reasons. For one, it doesn’t have lumbar support so you must sit kind of hunched. But some people might prefer that and if that’s you, by all means, you’ll love this chair. Another thing noticed is after a while, the chair might get a bit sweaty. Out of 10, we give it a 7.7 for comfort. Yet, kids and teens think this chair is more comfortable than adults.
Ace Casual
In terms of comfort, this chair is quite confusing. There are a group of people who think it’s highly uncomfortable, however, there is a dramatically larger group of users who believe it’s incredibly comfortable. The odd part is the lack of those in the middle. What we have found was this chair is very comfortable but not the best. After long sessions, you might need a short break. However, you’ll love the breathable fabric and ergonomic design. All in all, we give it a 9.3 out of 10 for its comfort.
Overall, the Ace Casual is much more comfortable.
Build Quality
What good is your comfortable gaming chair with various features if it breaks sooner than you’d expected? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Also, if the chair has any built-in electronics or speakers, it’s important they last long, as well. Another noteworthy attribute is the chair’s weight capacity and size. Some chairs might be a better fit for larger people, other chairs are better for medium to smaller people.
X Rocker SE 2.1
Upon arrival, the assembly is on the intermediate side as it’s not too difficult but takes time. Everything is made of high-quality material besides the bottom of the chair. Yet, few people even notice. Most people don’t have any issues with longevity. There have been a few cases of larger adults ripping the material prematurely. Overall, we give the build quality a 9.1 out of 10.
Ace Casual
With a 275-pound weight limit, this chair is of great quality. However, it’s nothing too surprising in either direction. We believe the build quality is roughly on par with its price point giving it an 8.9 out of 10.
Overall, the X Rocker SE 2.1 has a better quality of construction.
Built-in Speakers
Some gaming chairs provide built-in speakers and others don’t. However, many people believe that gaming chairs with incorporated speakers are more valuable for gaming since it enhances a surround sound effect. But there are a few critical questions to keep in mind for chairs with built-in speakers. Are they wireless, or do you have to plug the chair in via cord? How good is the sound quality? And my personal favorite, does the chair have an integrated subwoofer that vibrates the chair according to the game?
X Rocker SE 2.1
This chair possesses dual speakers incorporated near the headrest. Additionally, it comes with a subwoofer for enhanced bass. The overall sound quality is much better than the average chair with built-in speakers. You’ll also love that the subwoofer vibrates the chair bringing the video game closer to life. Unfortunately, the volume isn’t as loud as many people prefer it to be. But to end this on a positive note, you’ll love the ability to sit anywhere in your room with its wireless connection. In case it’s late at night with people in your home sleeping, this chair also offers an audio headphone jack.
Ace Casual
Providing two speakers near the headrest and a 4-inch subwoofer on the backside, this chair offers great sound. However, the reviews for the speakers are mixed. Many people love the sound quality, loudness, and connectivity. However, others couldn’t get the speakers to work or don’t believe they’re loud enough. We always suggest using the audio from both the TV and speakers for a surround sound effect if possible.
Overall, the X Rocker SE 2.1 has a slightly better sound quality with the built-in speakers.
Massage Capabilities
Some gaming chairs offer massage capabilities. While most don’t have this feature, it’s certainly a splendid option to have. Some people must have a massage chair, others don’t.
X Rocker SE 2.1
Doesn’t have massage capabilities.
Ace Casual
Doesn’t provide a massage feature.
Overall, neither offers an integrated massage feature.
Appearance
Gaming chairs can either dramatically enhance the overall vibe of your room, or not. Many gamers don’t care too much about how their chair looks. But if you’re like me and prefer a cool chair to sit down and battle aliens on your game, then the appearance is quite essential.
X Rocker SE 2.1
This chair has a futuristic appearance that dramatically enhances your gaming setup. It looks fantastic and you’ll surely impress your friends with it. Compared to other gaming chairs, we believe this one has a richer style and one of the more visually-pleasing.
Ace Casual
In comparison to other gaming chairs, we think this one is about average in terms of style and appearance. It doesn’t under or over-perform. You won’t be amazed nor disappointed visually. The pattern is nice, but the bottom seat is rather bulky looking. Some chairs have a bigger bottom seat but pull-it off.
Overall, the X Rocker SE 2.1 has a better appearance.
