- Appearance: Let’s face it, when you’re sitting down going into a gaming battle, you need your gaming chair to look cool and enhance the vibe of your room.
We compared and contrasted each of these factors for the X Rocker Surge & GTRACING
Type of Chair
There are a few types of gaming chairs. There are rocker chairs that typically sit closer to the ground and pleasantly rock back and forth. Then there are stationary chairs that might or might not provide a few levels of incline. And finally, there are gaming chairs with wheels with many similarities to a standard office chair. Each of the three has its own benefits. There isn’t necessarily a better or worse style as it comes down to your personal preference.
X Rocker Surge
This is a rocker chair where you’re sitting close to the ground. we primarily recommend it for console gaming if you want to look slightly upwards at the TV. But for obvious reasons, we certainly don’t recommend it for PC gaming since you won’t even be able to reach your computer desk. Another beneficial factor worth mentioning is its foldability for effortless portability.
GTRACING
This PC gaming chair offers an easy and reliable recline 170 degrees backward. Although advertised as such, this chair doesn’t seem to provide a rocking function. These chairs resemble a standard office chair.
Overall, the X Rocker Surge is a rocking chair that sits close to the ground optimized for console gaming. However, the GTRACING is a better option for PC gaming.
Comfort
The ability to remain comfortable in your gaming chair for extended periods of time only makes your gaming or movie experience that much more enjoyable. If the chair possesses different recline levels or tilt, it’s also important to note which of the levels are comfy and which aren’t.
X Rocker Surge
This chair possesses incredibly comfortable bonded leather material. Some people prefer lumbar support, others don’t. If you’re the type who doesn’t like lower back support, you’ll enjoy this chair’s comfort. However, we don’t recommend it for larger adults since you’re basically sitting on the floor. For medium-sized to smaller people, comfort is a solid 9.2 out of 10.
GTRACING
This chair is incredibly comfortable for people 5’9″ and under. For smaller people, like me, the comfortability and support dramatically surpass expectations. But above that height, the reviews are a bit mixed. Some larger people love it, others don’t approve. The seats are firm but comfy. Also, the adjustable lumbar support and headrest are huge pluses, as well. Another thing worth noting is the chair is non-breathable. Therefore, you might need to take a break every 5 hours due to the chair heating up. Out of 10, we give it a 9.2 for comfort.
Overall, both are roughly equal in comfort.
Build Quality
What good is your comfortable gaming chair with various features if it breaks sooner than you’d expected? The overall durability and longevity are crucial for any investment you make. Also, if the chair has any built-in electronics or speakers, it’s important they last long, as well. Another noteworthy attribute is the chair’s weight capacity and size. Some chairs might be a better fit for larger people, other chairs are better for medium to smaller people.
X Rocker Surge
The overall build quality is very sturdy. The overwhelming majority of people don’t have any issues with the inner electronics or longevity of the chair. Coming without wheels, this is a rocking chair. Therefore, if you prefer rocking back and forth while gaming or watching movies, you’ll be very happy with it. Another thing to keep in mind is its relatively compact size of 36.81 x 32.28 x 20.89. However, it’s remarkably able to hold up to 275 pounds. We give the overall construction a 9.5 out of 10.
GTRACING
Right off the bat, the assembly is timely but straightforward taking about 40 minutes. The build quality dramatically outperforms the price. With a 300-pound weight capacity, it’s extremely sturdy and able to last a long time. Overall, we give the build quality a 9.4 out of 10.
Overall, the X Rocker Surge has a better build quality.
Built-in Speakers
Some gaming chairs provide built-in speakers and others don’t. However, many people believe that gaming chairs with incorporated speakers are more valuable for gaming since it enhances a surround sound effect. But there are a few critical questions to keep in mind for chairs with built-in speakers. Are they wireless, or do you have to plug the chair in via cord? How good is the sound quality? And my personal favorite, does the chair have an integrated subwoofer that vibrates the chair according to the game?
X Rocker Surge
With dual wireless Bluetooth speakers and an integrated subwoofer for enhanced bass, this chair produces great sound quality. Even though most TVs produce louder and a more clear sound than basically every gaming chair, this chair along with the TV enhances the surround sound effect. Both of the speakers are located at the top near your head while the volume control is on the bottom side.
GTRACING
This chair doesn’t provide built-in speakers.
Overall, the X Rocker Surge is the only one of the two with incorporated speakers.
Massage Capabilities
Some gaming chairs offer massage capabilities. While most don’t have this feature, it’s certainly a splendid option to have. Some people must have a massage chair, others don’t.
X Rocker Surge
This chair doesn’t provide a massage feature.
GTRACING
This chair doesn’t provide a massage feature.
Overall, neither provide an integrated massage feature.
Appearance
Gaming chairs can either dramatically enhance the overall vibe of your room, or not. Many gamers don’t care too much about how their chair looks. But if you’re like me and prefer a cool chair to sit down and battle aliens on your game, then the appearance is quite essential.
X Rocker Surge
With a compact but contemporary style, this chair offers a nice design. It won’t necessarily boost the overall aesthetic of your gaming set up, but it surely won’t hurt it, either.
GTRACING
You can get this racing style chair in one of 5 color options. However, the blue choice is the most visually pleasing.
Overall, the GTRACING has a more attractive design.
Our Winner
Between The X Rocker Surge vs. GTRACING
Keep in mind that our opinion is not the end all be all. Like mentioned earlier, everyone has different needs, requirements, and budgets for their gaming chairs. However, our winner is the X Rocker Surge due to its enhanced build quality, rocking capabilities, and integrated speakers. However, if you’re primarily gaming on your computer, the GTRACINGis a better option.
